Yash Dhull and Harshit Rana brought India ‘A’ a resounding victory over UAE ‘A’ in the ACC Emerging Cup

Taking the field in their Group B match, the UAE A team never got off to a good start and struggled to pick up points against the Indians.

Ashwant Valtapa (46), opener Aryansh Sharma (38) and Mohammed Faraazuddin (35) were the only three significant players in the Arab team.

Chasing 176 points, India A lost both their openers – Sai Sudharsan (8) and Abhishek Sharma (19) – in the sixth minute at 41, but Dhull (108 not out) and Nikin Jose (41 not out) ensured an easy win by scoring 138 not out for the third wicket.

Dhull’s attacking strokeplay was full of skill and timing as he scored his points off just 84 balls, hitting the boundary fence 20 times and crossing it once.

Jose, on the other hand, played second fiddle and embellished his innings of 53 balls with just five boundaries.

Ali Nasir (1/14) and Muhammad Jawadullah (1/47) scored the pucks for the UAE A team.

India A will play Nepal here on July 17 before facing rivals Pakistan A in the final match of the group on July 19.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals to be held on July 21. The final is scheduled for July 23.
