‘The way he plays cricket’: Ollie Pope defends Ollie Robinson

But he’s a great guy, and I think during the Ashes series these things really come to light.

At the height of the moment he was obviously pumped up to get that wicket, and there’s nothing personal in the way he did it. It’s just the way he plays cricket.

When asked if Robinson needed to tone down his celebration, Pope said: I don’t know, I didn’t ask him.

But if he can have a good time, hopefully he can celebrate the way he wants to celebrate.

But he’s just going to do his business the way he does. He’s a quality bowler, so hopefully he can let the ball do what it takes.

Ash’s second test starts Wednesday.
