The length of the cooling off period for retired Indian cricketers will be determined by BCCI officials

The men’s team is the B team because the first-team players will be busy at the 50-over World Championships, which will be held at home. The Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 8, and the ICC World Cup from October 5 to November 23.

Cricket was part of two Asiads, in 2010 and 2014, but India did not field a team. After being left out of the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, cricket returned to the program of the Hangzhou Games, which was supposed to be held last year but was postponed due to China’s zero-covid policy.

A cooling off period for retired India players will be in effect because there have been recent instances of former India players announcing their retirement and immediately joining the T20 league the following week. Because so many leagues pop up during the season, former players are offered big salaries.

Among other decisions made at the High Council meeting was the standardization of the Impact Player Rule. The Impact Player rule was different for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Indian Premier League. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Tournament, teams could replace one player from their lineup, but had to do so before the 14th inning. There was no such restriction in the IPL.
