Bangladesh’s chief spearhead Mustafizur Rahman is likely to miss the match due to a knee sprain. The absence of the 27-year-old, who has 148 wickets in 89 ODIs to his credit, will be a major loss for Bangladesh in the game against six-time champions Sri Lanka. Hasan Mahmood is likely to replace Mustafizur in the squad.
Anamul to replace Litton
Anamul Haque, who replaced Litton Das in the Bangladesh squad, will be in the starting line-up. The 30-year-old Anamul last played an ODI for Bangladesh in December 2022 against India. He has featured in a total of 44 ODIs in which he has scored 1254 runs at an average of 30.58, including five fifties and three centuries. Anamul Haque is an equal replacement for Litton Das, who bats in the first trio and also retains wickets.
Hemanta replaces Hasaranga
With Vanindu Hasaranga unavailable with a thigh injury, Dushan Hemanta is the only leg-spinner option and the 29-year-old is likely to get a chance. Hemantha has played two ODI matches for Sri Lanka in which he took two wickets.
