Given the current realities, I am only staying on as captain until the World Cup. Not a day more. I stepped down as captain on September 17. The same There were reasons when I didn’t want to be captain before the Asian Cup. I don’t think my captaincy is beneficial at this stage of my career. I just wanted to bowl, give my best on the field and bat. It would have been easiest for me not to take over the captaincy. At this age, I didn’t want to take that pressure on myself. I want to smile, enjoy my game, play for Bangladesh, he added.
