The 2023 Asian Cup, which will be held before the World Cup, will also be decided in the coming days as representatives from some members of the Asian Cricket Board traveled to the IPL final on Sunday between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans.
The venue for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will be decided at a press conference during the ICC Test World Cup final. A full schedule for the tournament will also be announced, Shah said.
The future of the 2023 Asian Cup will be decided after we hold a meeting with the ACC (Test playing nations) and associate nations, Shah added.
The BCCI secretary said that 15 stadiums have been shortlisted to improve the basic facilities for fans based on their wishes, while other stadiums will be added later. Grant Thornton was tasked with this goal.
In a week, the BCCI will also announce special committees to handle the 2023 Indian World Cup and the Women’s Premier League, as well as a POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) policy development committee.
Shah said: Regarding the ICC Cricket World Cup venues, each officer will be responsible for each venue. We are considering all metropolitan areas as venues for the tournament. We will set up a committee to develop a POSH policy. The draft is ready and will be presented to the general meeting for ratification and necessary approvals, he added.
In addition, the World Cup will be preceded by a series of limited-overs between India and Afghanistan, but the dates and venues have not yet been determined.
Shah added that the kicker rule in this IPL has been appreciated by all teams and players, leading to a record number of totals in excess of 200, and the number of boundaries and sixes has also crossed the 1,000 and 2,000 mark.
