Rinku Singh and other young men will be airlifted to participate in the T20I series against Ireland

The BCCI selection committee has asked the board to hold more tours in India A, and players from the periphery will be tried out there before being taken to the senior India team. The BCCI is in talks with several councils to hold A tours.

This was the first meeting held by Ajit Agarkar, who took over as chief selector Tuesday. Agarakar brought a fresh perspective to T20 cricket, having been part of the team that won the first ICC World T20 in South Africa in 2007.

The selection committee selected Yashaswi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma for the T20I squad. Jaiswal has impressed everyone with his exploits in the IPL and Ranji Trophy recently, but in IPL 2023, he proved that his game has reached a new level as he dismantled many established bowlers.

Shubman Gill is the only player in this group who is currently a regular in Test matches, regardless of conditions or venue. The group of batters, which includes Sanju Samson and Ishaan Kishan as two substitute players, is expected to attack the bowling from the first ball.
