Ravindra Jadeja and Shubman Gill, after heroic victories in IPL 2023, join the Indian team for the WTC Finals

The star Indian duo on Thursday added to the Indian Test contingent in England for the World Test Championship finals, which begin June 7.

Along with Jadeja and Gill, CSK’s Ajinkya Rahane and Mumbai Indians’ Suryakumar Yadav also arrived at the team’s training base at Arundel Castle Cricket Club in West Sussex.

Earlier Thursday, Adidas India also unveiled new kits for the Indian team in all formats, including blue striped strings for Test cricket.

India captain Rohit Sharma joined the rest of the team on Wednesday and Virat Kohli, Mohammed Siraj and Cheteshwar Pujara took part in their first practice session on Monday.

Meanwhile, Mumbai opener Yashaswi Jaiswal was included in the Indian squad for the WTC final as a reserve player after Ruthuraj Gaikwad told the cricket board that he was getting married on June 3-4.

The Indian Express has learned that team management has asked Jaiswal to start training with the red ball, and since he already has a British visa, he will fly to London in a few days.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) initially listed Gaikwad as a reserve player for the WTC final, where India will face Australia at the Oval on June 7. Gaikwad told BCCI he would be able to join the team after June 5, but coach Rahul Dravid was looking for a replacement.
