‘Just because they don’t play in the IPL…’: Wasim Jaffer expresses dissatisfaction with Indian team selection on West Indies tour

Sharing his thoughts on Twitter, former India player Wasim Jaffer lashed out at the selection policy and made a number of remarks.

Why do we need four open players? (Rohit, Shubman Gill, Gaikwad and Jaiswal) Instead, they could have chosen Sarfaraz as an extra middle order bat to celebrate his consistent performances in the home championship.

Easwaran and Panchal have been doing the hard work in Ranji and India A for a long time, knocking on test doors. Just because they don’t play in the IPL, can we consider them overlooked and unheard of? How did Ruturaj jump the queue? he added.

It’s surprising to see Shami rested, and even after a month’s break. I think he’s the kind of bowler that the more he plays, the better/better and in better shape, he said.
