Jasprit Bamrakh is a player we have sorely missed: India bowling coach Paras Mhambri says workload management will be important going forward

The 51-year-old also said that with the World Cup and Asia Cup coming up, it becomes important for the team to plan the workload of the bowlers. Load management is one of the important things we have been working on for the last couple of years, obviously we are missing Bumrah and Prasidh who were part of the team. We have learned from that looking at the upcoming schedule, we are playing in different formats and in that sense load management will be important. A lot of things are being discussed with the captain and the team management, he said.

In the absence of many fast bowling players, Mukesh Kumar, who has done a tremendous job in the last couple of years in Ranji cricket, has been included in the squad. He is a very exciting talent but the main thing is that he has come in after hard work and results. He knows the value of himself. We have been following his game for the last few years and his performance in the Ranji Trophy, said the Indian bowling coach.

Mukesh has taken 123 wickets in just 33 matches at an average of 21.49. He was also in the WTC team reserves. This is my opportunity to work with him and strengthen the bench. Now we have Siraj who is bowling well, in addition to him we have Shami and Bumrah and we need to create a bench even apart from them. It’s a good opportunity for Mukesh to sit with people here, talk to them and learn. There are a lot of senior bowlers here.
