Indian cricketers retiring must go through a cooling off period before joining foreign leagues

In another agenda item, BCCI will discuss the participation of BCCI teams in the Asian Men’s and Women’s Games. The Indian Express earlier reported that the BCCI has decided to send India’s men’s and women’s B teams to participate in the Asian Games to be held in October.

The High Council will also discuss the Terms of Play for the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 (Impact Player Rule) tournament.

The Impact Player Rule was different for Syed Mushtaq Ali compared to the Indian Premier League. In Syed Mushtaq Ali, teams could substitute one member of their team during a match if they thought it would be useful, but the team had to do so before the 14th over of the inning, whereas IPL players had no limit on overs. The BCCI will now apply the same rule for the two tournaments. The high council is also going to discuss stadium upgrades before the ICC 2023 World Cup, which will be held in India from Oct. 5 to Nov. 19.

Team flies to West Indies

The Indian Test team left Mumbai for the West Indies on different flights Thursday night. BCCI could not find tickets for one flight, and as a result, the players will travel to the Caribbean via America, Britain and the Netherlands. India captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will travel to the West Indies on flights from Paris and London. The Indian team is set to play two Test matches starting July 12. There will be one practice game before the Test series begins.
