ICC Champions Trophy to move from 50-over format to T20 format?

Will the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 move from a 50-over format to a T20 format? The Guardian newspaper citing sources has reported that broadcaster Disney Star wants to turn the next Champions Trophy, with teams like England and Sri Lanka still fighting for a place in the current ODI World Cup, into an 8-team 20-over competition.

Champions Trophy will be played in 2025 and 2029 while the T20 World Cup is scheduled for 2024, 2026, 2028 and 2030. The ICC 50-over World Cup will be played in 2027 in South Africa and in 2031 in India and Bangladesh.
