Chahal is a world class bowler and would be an asset to the team. However, the selectors have made their decision.
Former Indian cricket team spinner Harbhajan Singh has expressed his disappointment over the decision to leave Chahal out of the ODI series against Australia.
Yuzvendra Chahal should have been here. He was not given that opportunity. This is beyond my comprehension. Whether he had an argument with someone or said something to someone, I don’t know, Harbhajan said on his official YouTube channel.
If we talk about skill alone, his name should have been in this team because a lot of Indian national team players are rested, he added.
Harbhajan also spoke about how Washington Sundar and Ravichandran Ashwin were brought back into the side.
First, Washington Sundar, who was not in the original squad for the Asia Cup, was called up. After that, a second player was called up for this series and Ravichandran Ashvi was also called up as welln.v. – R. Ashwin, he said.
So somewhere the Indian team is looking for off-spinners. Perhaps they have realized their mistake of not getting an off-spinner in the team and that our bowlers might have a problem if they get a lot of left-handers in front of them. Why do all this unnecessarily? It is beyond my comprehension or they are going to make another mistake to correct their previous one, he concluded.
