Eight people are accused of attempting to corrupt the UAE’s T10 league

The allegations relate to the Abu Dhabi 2021 T10 Cricket League and joint attempts to corrupt matches in this tournament – these attempts have been thwarted, the ICC said in a statement.

Sanctions could include a lifetime suspension from the game.

One of the team co-owners failed to disclose corrupt practices and did not cooperate with the tournament’s anti-corruption department, while another placed bets on the outcome of matches.

A baseball coach was accused of trying to rig the resultates of matches.While players were accused of offering rewards to their mates for participating in match-fixing attempts, the ICC said.

The six accused have been suspended and all eight have 14 days to respond to the charges, the governing body added.
