Sri Lanka will start their Asia Cup campaign with a match against Bangladesh on August 31 in Pallekele.
Adding to the Lankans’ woes is the fact that batters Kusal Perera and Avishka Fernando have tested positive for COVID-19.
Perera and Fernando are currently under observation and their inclusion in the Lankan squad will depend on the speed of their recovery.
The Sri Lankan team management stated that the duo had contacted COVID-19 during the latter stages of LPL 2023.
They need to test negative to be included in the Asia Cup squad.
