Andrew McDonald hints at including Mitchell Stark in the test at Lord’s, bowler says he has no indication

It’s a very, very short Ashes, fit into seven weeks. We knew it would be a challenge to play all the matches. We all took this approach and will take it until the end of the test matches.

Australia coach Andrew MacDonald had previously hinted that Stark might take part in the second Test, but Stark said he had received no instructions.

I haven’t received any indication, so your guess is as good as mine until the selectors make a decision.

Stark says he is not surprised to see more life on Lord’s field after the lifeless surface of Edgbaston.

I guess it’s not surprising after some of the comments last week and the nature of this (Edgbaston) wicket, he told reporters.

We’ll play what we’re given in a couple of days.

Ash’s second test will start on Wednesday.
