The Netherlands will take part in its fifth World Cup and its first since 2011. This year the world finals will be held from October 5 to November 19.
The Netherlands picked the field and limited Scotland to 277 for nine points over 50 weekends on a good field. In-form Brandon McMullen struck out 106 for the Scots, his second century in qualifying, and De Lyde made 5-52.
The Dutch kept the pace high for most of the inning, knowing they only had 44 overs to reach, and De Liede’s spurt secured the win.
It was his first century at One-Day International tournaments: he scored 123 runs off 92 balls and struck out when his team fell two short of the target.
